Make the leap from page to stage! In our Early Elementary Story Adventures classes, students will deepen their appreciation for the arts through the exploration of new and classic children’s literature. Artistic expression, performing confidence, peer collaboration (and silly storytelling) will all be in the spotlight for these fun-filled six and seven week sessions.
These classes will be taught by Education Manager Alicia Millerson (SIII), Education Manager James Early (SIV), and Associate Director of Education Joseph Grosso (SV)
Where: Red Brick Center for the Arts, Dance Studio
When: Wednesdays from 3:30 pm – 4:45 pm

AES Students may take the F (Fox) bus from the elementary school directly to the Red Brick Center and be picked up directly from the bus by the Theatre Aspen instructor.
Hop down the green pipeline into the Mushroom Kingdom with all your favorite Super Mario Characters. In Super Mario: A Musical Adventure, students will learn and build upon a foundation of musical theatre skills all while tackling a fresh new script with music set in the world of Mario and his friends. This class will culminate in a final performance for friends and families where students can shine like the super stars of the Mario Universe!

When: 4/1 – 5/20 Mondays from 3:30 – 5 PM
Where: Theatre Aspen Studio at Red Brick Center
Come one, come all and join the circus with Theatre Aspen’s Spring Break Drama Club! Enter the wacky world of the circus through drama games, music, dance, and design. Whether you’re creating your own circus act or dancing your way across the trapeze, students will use creative collaboration skills as we form our own circus troupe!
Who: All Kids in K – 4th grade
When: 3/25 – 3/29 (ASD Spring Break) from 9am – 3pm

Broadway is calling your students in Theatre Aspen’s Early Release Broadway Adventure! On each early release day we will explore a different hit show through design, drama games, song, and dance.
AES Students can take Bus F (Fox) directly to the Red Brick Center on early release days for this program, and be picked up from the bus by our instructor. Students also enrolled in our Wednesday Story Adventures program will roll directly into that class following the end of the Early Release Broadway Adventure.

Dive into the mind of one of Broadway’s greatest composers in Putting it Together: A Sondheim Cabaret. Students will tackle the challenging works of Stephen Sondheim through a cabaret style approach to performance. They will learn to build a personal connection to songs, craft stories to weave into their performance, hone vocal technique, and learn how to approach a song as yourself, rather than as a character. Repertoire selection will be approached in a collaborative nature to help foster the student’s artistic voice. The class will culminate in a final cabaret performance for friends and families with a live accompanist.
Who: Open to all students in 9th-12th Grade
When: Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:30-6pm, April 23rd – May 10th

December, 3 from 1 – 4pm at the Black Box Theatre
7th – 12th Graders Tap Your Troubles Away, Theatre Aspen EDU’s newest workshop, students will engage in a lively and invigorating experience designed for dancers of all levels. In this class, students will discover the joy of making music with their feet, as they explore the fundamental elements of tap dance in a supportive and encouraging environment. This class will be especially great for those wanting to gear up for Aspen High School’s production of Anything Goes. So, lace up those tap shoes, embrace the infectious rhythm, and join us on a journey where each step is a note in the symphony of tap dance!
