As we adjust to a socially distanced life, Theatre Aspen Education is proud and excited to be offering a growing range of online classes.


We know how much theatre class can mean to developing minds and we welcome students from where ever they are to train, transform and triumph in our shared virtual spaces.

Elementary Theatre Exploration

Oct 8 – Nov 12

Grades K – 3

Does your child enjoy art, storytelling, and playing pretend? Join us for our six-week Elementary Theatre Exploration class!


Students will develop skills in acting, theatrical design, and playwriting while collaborating with their peers in an online format.


This class will be taught by Theatre Aspen Apprentice Program alum, Maya Dougherty.

Equipment required: access to high speed internet and a computer, phone or ipad. 

My Shot – Hamilton Hip Hop Dance Class 

MY SHOT – Online Dance Class


Oct. 5 – Nov 9

Grades 4 – 6

Join teaching artist Erica Colarusso (choreographer from Summer 2020’s Frozen Jr.) for this fun 6-week dance class!


Students will learn how to warm-up and stretch to maximize dance ability and physical health, foundational hip hop and musical theatre movement, as well as learn a dance to “My Shot” from the hit musical, Hamilton!


Students will learn specific skills regarding hip hop technique and musicality– they will learn how to use lyrics, beats, and flow to guide movement and tell a story through dance.


This class is ideal for students looking to have fun, express themselves, and learn dance in a supportive environment.


The class will culminate in a recorded Zoom performance after the final class on Monday, November 9, 2020.

Playwriting for Teens!

Grades 7 – 12

Create your own original play in a virtual playwriting course!


Students will express themselves and discover their voice while gaining valuable creative writing skills.


The course will explore the playwriting process, character development, and plot structure through playful exercises and writing prompts.


Students will also flex their acting muscles through being the actors of one another’s plays.

Design and Production Forum

Tech Talk: Design & Production Forums are a series of 6 classes that students may Zoom into to learn the fundamentals of design for stage & screen.


Over the 6 courses students will get the chance to speak with professional designers about design techniques & their journey and experiences in the collaborative world of the arts.

Whether you’re just curious, or want to follow in their footsteps toward a career in the theatre arts, these conversations will inspire and empower you!
